With such a wide ranges of games available for the PS3 it was a challenge to boil it down to our top 10 PS3 games for the 2010 Holiday Season. But after many hours of game play and exhaustive research we’ve accomplished the task – for you, our faithful readers.

You’ll find a variety of games on our list but, without a doubt, action/adventure titles dominate the list. Afterall, we all need a little adventure in our lives and thanks to the PS3′s amazing rendering speed and some killer work but talented game programmers we can get just that.

Have no fear, we haven’t overlooked some of the less adrenaline producing games – you’ll find a good number of family or group friendly games that will keep you and all your guests fully entertained for hours.

Top 10 PlayStation Move Games

PlayStation Move is the new motion sensing controller built exclusively for the PlayStation 3. The easiest way to describe it is as “the next generation of the Wii gameplay”. It’s more accurate than the Wii and since it’s build for the PS3 it will support *much* better graphics – we’re talking HD graphics here.

Move into the Action with the PlayStation Move!

I could go on and on about the different motion sensing devices built into the controllers but rather than that I will simply say that this is the most precise motion controller device I have ever played with. Much like the launch of the Wii, the early games line up for the PlayStation Move show the capabilities of the controllers in a variety of different games. There’s a little something for the whole family that will provide hours of fun. Check out EyeToy Pet and Tiger Woods PGS Tour 11 for just a small example of the different interactions you can expect. Well, that is if you can pull yourself away from the Table Tennis game that is included in Sports Champions.

It’s easy to see why Sony is so excited about the PlayStation Move – they have already moved (ha, get it) over a million units since launch just a few weeks ago. And while it’s not without competition (like the equally compelling Xbox 360 Kinect) this holiday season, the future is very bright for this incredible motion controller.

Killzone 2 Launch

Time to put that demo down, today is Killzone 2 launch day. With over a million preorders, Killzone 2 is already a hit. More importantly, it’s a hit with critics too.
The game description is pretty straight forward:

Two years after the Helghast assault on Vekta, the ISA is taking the fight to the enemy’s home world of Helghan. The ISA goal is direct: capture the Helghast leader, Emperor Visari, and bring the Helghast war machine to a halt. Assuming the role of Sev, a battle-hardened veteran and a member of the special forces unit known as the Legion, players lead a group of highly trained soldiers on a mission to take out the Helghast threat. For Sev and his squad, the invasion of Helghan is just the beginning. Tasked with securing Pyrrhus, the Capital City, the team quickly discovers that the Helghast are a formidable enemy on their home planet. Not only have they adjusted to the planet’s hostile conditions, they have also harnessed a source of power they can now use against the ISA. Sev discovers his squad isn’t just fighting enemy forces – their fiercest opponent may be the planet itself.

What are critics saying about it? Some are talking about this as a Game of the Year contender, while others throw around phrases like “brilliant in its execution”, and “you don’t want to miss this game”, although G4 TV puts it in a way that I can appreciate:

Probably the tastiest part of the Killzone Cocktail is the Multiplayer. Imagine if Call Of Duty 4 and Team Fortress 2 had a baby, which they then abandoned and as a result had to learn a few new tricks to survive. That’s what Killzone Multiplayer is like.
