Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition

  • Features new modernized third-person action game control variations as well as the return of the traditional Resident Evil 4 control schemes.
  • Gold Edition extras including all of the original content, two new episodes, four new costumes, an updated Mercenaries Mode and online RE5 versus mode.
  • Two playable characters in the standard campaigns, including new character Sheva Alomar, an African BSAA agent tasked with investigating the epidemic.
  • New cooperatively-focused gameplay that revolutionizes the way that Resident Evil is played. Chris and Sheva must work together to survive new challenges and fight dangerous hordes of enemies.
  • Quick-Select inventory system that allows items to be traded between characters. To add to the intensity, all inventory management is done in real time; items can even be assigned to the directional pad for instant access.

Previously only seen during cut scenes of the original RESIDENT EVIL 5, the first new episode titled “LOST IN NIGHTMARES”, finds BSAA agent, Chris Redfield, working with his partner, Jill Valentine, as they investigate Ozwell E. Spencer’s hideaway. Spencer, the evil mastermind and co-founder of Umbrella Corporation, has been hiding a new evil deep within the basement of his mansion. Chris and Jill discover this grotesque evil standing in their way as the two enter deeper into the catacomb

I realize that it’s frustrating to have gone out and bought the game only to find it’s the original Resident Evil 5 with a token for the downloadable content. But actually, if you don’t already own the game, it’s a really good deal. It’s cheaper than how much the game was when it first came out, and the extra content is free with the token, so you really save money. So yes, Capcom wasn’t clear about how this package worked, but I still rate it 5 stars because it’s still a great game with a good storyline, great graphics, tons of replayability, and now extras that can be downloaded.

I’m currently on deployment and ordered Gold Edition to help pass the dragging days for all of us out here.

My friends and I have already played through the original game out here and enjoyed it, so everyone was rather excited about having more RE5. Much to our dismay though, all I recieved was the original game with a new cover, and a insert telling us to download the product.

Suprisingly enough, even in this day and age not everyone can connect to an internet source with an Xbox. Out here in the middle east for instance, we can only get online at work or at a recreation center.

Thanks, Capcom. I knew you were a slimy company before, but this is an absolute joke.

I’m a Resident Evil die hard fan. RS 5 is a great game. If you already own RS 5, go to XBOX Live or PSN and down load the content and save yourself the 50 bucks. The new features are not burned to disc as I was thinking it would. So, now I have to identical RS 5 games. The bottom line for those who don’t like downloads or do not have down load capabilities this version of the game is a waste of money, you don’t get anything different from the original RS 5 game.

Extremely disapointing, I got it the day after it came out and sent it back to amazon right away. It’s just the original disc with a redeem code, and you can only use the redeem code ONCE, then your screwed. You might as well by the original for $12 and just download everything.

I love the game. It came in a very good condition even though it was a pre-owned game. I recomend this game to all RE (Resident Evil) fans. The seller was very helpful and got in touch with me when I needed it. You cant go wrong with buying things on Amazon.com. But, it is a very hard game to play and the graphics are killer.
