Building applications for the iPhone is tough enough for independent developers, but game development is even tougher. GarageGames is changing that with iTGB.
GarageGames, makers of the Torque Game Builder for Mac and PC, have launched a tool that lets you port those games onto the iPhone. iTGB (presumably for iPhone Torque Game Builder) allows you to use the Torque toolset to develop your game and then optimize them for iPhone deployment.
Making games for the iPhone is now a fast, fun, straightforward process using Torque’s proven 2D tools for game development. iTGB is built to natively load projects from Torque Game Builder and deploy them to the iPhone. iTGB supports the full TGB set of features, so you can prototype your iPhone game in TGB on PC or Mac, then optimize it for deployment to the iPhone using iTGB. The Torque Game Builder is a full-fledged game development platform aimed at indy game developers, and GarageGames boasts that there are currently over 100,000 Torque licensees in their development community.
