VGA 2010: Resistance 3 Trailer

by Salat on December 13, 2010 · 0 comments

“Lieutenant Dan, whataya doin’ here?”

“Well, I told you if you were ever a shrimp boat captain, I would come be your first mate.”

Hope you brought your shotgun, Lieutenant Dan, because apparently you’re taking the Jenny down the river into evil hybrid monster Chimera town in Resistance 3.

It appears a huge portion of the game takes place on this boat. I guess if you’re looking for new territory, going up the river with Forrest and Lieutenant Dan hasn’t really been done in a game before. Hopefully there’s a shrimp-cooking minigame. Let’s see: soup, stew, salad, sandwiches, barbequed, broiled, baked, sauteed…

Okay, here’s the trailer.

VGA 2010: Thor: God of Thunder Trailer

by Salat on December 12, 2010 · 0 comments

Sure, it might look like it should be called God of Thor, or maybe Castlevania: Thors of Shadow. Darksiders II: God of Thunder. Um…SplatterThor.

Then again, smacking things with a hammer is usually a pretty compelling gameplay mechanic.

Either way, we’ve got the Thor: God of Thunder trailer from the Video Game Awards below, and it includes Thor fighting lots of big, mean-looking things, and possibly going to Hell or inside a volcano or something.

Please no platforming sections with lava.

Mark Wahlberg might be in the Uncharted movie adaptation and it might very well be f—ing awful based on all preliminary information — but at least we’ve got an awesome new Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception trailer to pine over.

Fresh out of the Spike Video Game Awards, the trailer suggests plane crashes < walking across open desert for Nathan Drake. Gotta love a dude who picks extremely likely flaming death over trudging through sand.

Side note: I hope this game has desert yetis. Uncharted 2′s yetis were amazing. You’re just wandering around, looking for treasure, and all of a sudden you’re fighting a yeti with a pistol and getting THRASHED by it. No word on desert yetis yet, but you can be damned sure we’ll keep you posted.

VGA 2010: SSX: Deadly Descents Trailer

by Salat on December 12, 2010 · 0 comments

This SSX: Deadly Descents trailer could have replaced that skiing scene from True Lies. It’s just as dramatic and intense, and you get the same sense that something really really important is happening, except there’s no one else there and protagonist has no reason to be on the mountain other than to just be awesome.

Still, the VGA trailer below makes me wonder what SSX: Deadly Descents might really be about. I hope you’re like a snowboarding secret agent, or a snowboarding international arms dealer, or a snowboarding Batman (see image above).

SSX: Batman: Arkham Tricky. Copyrighted Phil Hornshaw 2010. Do not steal that idea or I’ll see you in court.
