This weekend, gamers from around the country will gather in Seattle for the Penny Arcade Expo. Since we like games just as much as you all do, we’ve got a crack team headed for PAX right now.

They’re currently enjoying the miracle of airline transportation, but they’ll be bringing you all the best of the show right here for the next three days.

If that sounds like something you’re interested in, we’ve got something cool to show you: Our brand new PAX features page. This page will contain all of the tidbits of info we can wring out of the exhibitors at PAX, as well as our hands-on time with all the newest upcoming games.

Mortal Kombat Rebirth 2010

New Mortal Kombat trailer. Six minutes of the new Mortal Kombat movie. “Just under eight minutes of something related to Mortal Kombat has been posted on YouTube. The video features Jax — sans cybernetic arms — grilling a mysterious perp in a police station. Through some (laborious) exposition, he describes new humanized (and gross) versions of Reptile and Baraka, along with Johnny Cage and a young, beardless Shang Tsung. At first glance, one might assume it’s footage from the new, possibly derailed Mortal Kombat movie. Another possibility, given the video’s proximity to E3 and its introductory nature, is that this is a tease for the next Mortal Kombat game. Furthermore, the name of the newly created YouTube account is MortalKombatRebirth, which sounds like a perfectly suitable title for a new entry in the series. A third and altogether frightening possibility: This is all a prelude to a new movie / game tie-in. We know Warner Bros. is interested in the franchise, so it’s safe to assume something is on the horizon. We’ve contacted WBIE for more info. One way or another, it seems likely we’ll hear more by next week.” Source: www.joystiq.com

Paris-based media and telecommunications giant Vivendi SA has today increased its profit expectations for 2010, despite reporting a drop in second-quarter net profit. The company, which owns a 52% majority shareholding in video game publisher, Activision-Blizzard Inc., said its second-quarter earnings slipped 3.7% to EUR 669 million from EUR 695 million last year. Despite this news, Vivendi said it expects growth in earnings before interest and tax, and a higher adjusted profit than the one …

I have a new HD firefight trailer up on my channel! Watch it here – www.youtube.com The same mission shown at E3, extended and commentated by developer Joe Tung for IGN.com. This High Definition Gameplay shows off a lot of the space battle, and in my opinion is a MUCH better supplement than the first video I posted. Space battle looks intense, visuals are incredible, and I still love that Elite assassination.

Subscribe and get the full cover on gameplays of Portal 2!! This is the first part of 3. Part 2: www.youtube.com Part 3: www.youtube.com I rendered it for 720p HD quality, I hope you like it. Sorry For The Loong Wait!! Portal 2 will arrive February 9th on PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Mac. The PS3 version was announced at Sony’s press conference at E3 2010 (Valve has traditionally been averse to PS3 development). PS3 will support Steamworks so it will be updated in PS3 as well. You play as the same girl as the first game, because when GlaDOS wakes up she says, “Oh, it’s you.” GlaDOS rises from her grave, glares at you, and says, “It’s been a long time…I think we can put our differences behind us. For science. You monster.” GlaDOS is definitely pissed at you. But the way Valve describes it, she desperately wants to have a relationship with you, and the only way she knows how is by testing you. She goes to work rebuilding the facility, repairing the walls and replenishing the companion cubes and sentry guns. The sentry guns are still hilarious. Valve says Portal 2 will be more story-heavy than the first. Our demo began with scenes from the wrecked Aperture science facility you explored in the first game. It’s apparently been a long time Portal ended (GlaDOS even says as much) and the destroyed facility is overgrown with plant life. Early on you’ll encounter an AI Personality Core named Wheatley. He’s sort of a mechanical eyeball that slides along a rail on the ceiling
