Last we heard, the birdies said The Forced Unleashed III was never gonna happen. But nobody official ever stepped up and made a statement to that effect, and so as far as we’re concerned, it’s been in limbo.
But maybe it will happen. LucasArts’ Julio Torres spoke with SciFiNow mag and said this: “The time-frame for The Force Unleashed and TFU II is about a year, and there’s still, between that and Episode IV, a couple of years for us to play with.”
So the f**k what?
So that means no matter how the game ends for Starkiller and Vader in TFU II, we still have some time to figure out how we solidify the canon so that everything makes sense for IV.
Well, Starkiller kinda died at the end of the first game (SPOILER), and that didn’t prevent you guys from continuing his story. Go on.
Obviously if that were to be exposed, it would most likely be TFU III.
COUGH COUGH COUGH
Interesting. I would guess that if TFUII sells 7 million copies, as the first game did, we’ll see a second sequel. But that’s just me assuming LucasArts likes money. TFUII, by the way, is out on everything except the PSP on October 26.
Next week, Rockstar is releasing some free DLC for Red Dead Redemption in the form of the Hunting and Trading Outfits Pack. This is exciting because the above-pictured Expert Hunter outfit has been MIA after losing out on the vote that would have had it be included with the game s a pre-order bonus. When you earn this outfit, you get to wear animals and you become better at doing things to dead animals with your knife, and you’ll get twice the skins and stuff from the animal after you f**king murder it.
The pack is called “Hunting AND Trading Pack,” though, so it’s not just about killing cute things. You’ll also get the Savvy Merchant outfit, which’ll make you look quite dapper and will get you half-price guns and ammo at the stores.
Exciting! This is as good a reason as any to to give the game another quick spin before the Undead Nightmare starts on October 26.
While we're still a ways off before we get our hands on Dead Space 2, Visceral Games has got a little something to hold us over.
Interactive graphic novel and prequel to Dead Space 2, Dead Space Ignition, will make its way onto Xbox Live Arcade October 13 for 400 MS Points (5 bucks).
Players will get three hacking minigames in a choose your own adventure style story with multiple endings. What's more enticing are unlockables including a new suit for Isaac Clarke that players can use in Dead Space 2.
Still no word on a PlayStation 3 release date for Dead Space Ignition.
For more on Dead Space Ignition, check out our interview with producer Rich Briggs.
Dead Space Ignition, a comic book move/minigame prequel to Dead Space 2, will hit Xbox Live and, perhaps, the Playstation Network on October 13. Only the Xbox Live version is confirmed for next week because Major Nelson only blogs about Xbox stuff , derp. If you’re not familiar with Ignition, just know that it “blends an interactive comic presentation of the story with three unique hacking games.” All righty.
Aside from the whole “here is some more Dead Space story” appeal of this thing, completing it will also net you a special suit for Isaac, among other things, in Dead Space 2. An it’s only 400 MS points, so we all know we’ll take the rather shallow plunge at some point in the next four months before the game is out on January 25.
Rockstar is throwing a new batch of Red Dead Redemption DLC off the back of the train on October 12. This free pack includes the hunting and trading outfits that were also-rans in the GameStop pre-order bonus voting. Completing the Savvy Merchant challenge allows you to buy guns and ammo from gun shops at half the price, and completing The Expert Hunter challenge doubles the amount of skins and hides you collect from each kill. Notice the fabled jackalope in the foreground – if you want to don the hunter's outfit, you'll need to track and bag one of these fearsome critters.
Some folks are playing the Dead Space 2 multiplayer beta on PS3 this very instant. Clearly, you’re not one of them. Maybe you’ve just got it on pause. Or maybe you didn’t get into the beta …. or have been simply too lazy to input the code to download it. Maybe you don’t even own a PS3. Whatever your excuse, we invite you to check out our video preview of the game’s multiplayer mode (captured from the beta) — just past the break.
Remember: Knowledge is your best weapon against the Necromorph scourge. Plasma Cutters are a close second.

Gaming has never been the big draw of owning a Mac, but Valve has been slowly working to change that perception. First they released Steam on the Mac, then they started releasing games like Team Fortress 2 and 57 other titles.
Now, they’ve announced that they’ll be bringing zombies to the Mac as well, with both Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2 headed to the platform. Left 4 Dead 2 will be released alongside The Sacrifice DLC on October 5th, with Left 4 Dead running a little behind but planned to be out by the end of October.
Says Valve on the Left 4 Dead site,
Left 4 Dead 2 will be released on the Mac Tuesday October 5th. If you already own it on the PC, then you own it on the Mac. All you need to do is install it on your Mac and start playing.
If you don’t already own it, now is a great time to pick it up. Not only do you get Left 4 Dead 2 but steam owners get all the previously released DLC for free! So you get the original 5 Campaigns and “The Passing”, “The Sacrifice” and “No Mercy.” Best of all, there is already a thriving community and excellent community created campaigns waiting for you.
Steam continues to excite Mac owners, and with good reason. We wish you all the zombie-killing goodness that we’ve had. Enjoy.
The title pretty much says it all, but that won’t stop me from using the next few lines to remind everyone how much we still love free Left 4 Dead DLC, especially when our console counterparts are stuck paying for it. The Sacrifice campaign which will launch on all platforms October 5th will be a bit of a departure over past offerings since it will support both the original Left 4 Dead along with the sequel.
This odd combination continues to mix things up by allowing those who play the new campaign using the sequel to finally control the original crew alongside all the new special infected that made Left 4 Dead 2 such a huge improvement.
If you’re eager for more feel free to check out the official web comic or teaser trailer to help tide you over until October 5th.
