UKIE is to debut a beta PC digital download chart this February with help from retailers such as Mastertronic, Focus, Get Games and Green Man Gaming.
The organisation hopes to improve on the service in the coming months, which currently includes sales from Disney, Ubisoft, Sega, Square Enix, NCsoft and Warners. GamesIndustry.biz understands that there are currently 24 digital businesses involved in the project.
It also confirmed that it is also working on charts covering digital sales for Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network.
Will Alan Wake: American Nightmare be able to live up to its predecessor, given its relatively short development time? The trailer looks promising — but trailers can be deceiving.
What? The killer robots are laying siege to the city? That’s unexpected! I don’t care how good a spin doctor you are — you’re not going to convince me that weaponized robots will bring peace to a city. Well, I suppose if everyone is dead, there will be peace…
Man, I remember when Spidey fought villains like Doc Oc, Venom, Carnage, or even just simple muggers. Has this franchise jumped the shark?
Activision released the debut trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man during the VGAs this evening. The video showed rouge Oscorp robots taking over NYC in a very destructive manner, and Spider-Man fighting the metal maniacs as best he can before a massive worm-robot enters the scene. All was shown as though it was being broadcast on the local news, giving the player a third-person perspective on he situation. The Amazing Spider-Man is slated for a summer 2012 launch alongside the film of the same name, and is currently in development at Beenox Studios.
The world premiere of the Diablo 3 opening cinematic debuted at the 2011 VGAs, and it seems like Blizzard killed off one of the series’ most memorable characters before the game even begins. Can they really do that? I, like Break Media Gaming Editor Mark Burnham, suspect there is more at play — that some Deus Ex machina will save our dear Cain from that apocalyptic meteorite impact.
We still don’t have an official release date, but the earliest speculated date predicts the game will hit shelves on January 17. Don’t hold your breath, though. It’ll still be a while before we learn Cain’s fate.
Humble Bundle is now a brand, I guess. That sounds just fine to me, I think.
The latest Humble Indie is the alpha release of Voxatron, an old-school shooter that you just know you’ll love. It’s getting the legit Humble treatment, which means you can pay what you want for it and determine what percentage of your payment goes where. And if you buy it now, you’ll get access to all the game’s updates when they become available, including the monster creator. Meanwhile, this alpha release also includes a level editor, so…
Voxatron will eventually be a good value at $ 15, so there’s really no reason to skip it now. I mean gotdamn. Here’s a trailer.

Back in early September, the ever-busy Crescent Moon Games announced in our forums that they would be collaborating with Thunder Game Works (of Trenches [99¢/Lite/HD] fame) to bring gamers Evertales, a side-scrolling action-brawler with impressive 3D visuals and a great sense of humor.
You play as one of three unique characters, each of which are past their brawling prime in some fashion, but are nonetheless undeterred from the task at hand which is to eliminate the evil Dark Lord of Darkness. You can get an introduction to these characters as well as a taste of the type of tongue-in-cheek humor in Evertales in the debut trailer for the game:
Evertales is currently humming along in the development process, and both Crescent Moon and Thunder Game Works are shooting for submission for Apple approval sometime this month. It will launch as a Universal app with support for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad, Game Center integration, and will support iOS 5 features like iCloud game saves and AirPlay Mirroring. We’ll be looking to see how the final product turns out when Evertales launches sometime in the very near future.
