More of Capcom’s older titles will find their way to the Wii’s Virtual Console in 2011.
Destructoid reports that the Capcom booth at New York Comic Con includes a sign detailing new games joining Capcom Arcade Classics. At least one, Ghosts ‘n Goblins, was released previously for the Playstation 2 and Xbox in Capcom Classics Collection Volume 1.
Capcom also just announced the addition of Ghosts ‘n Goblins franchise protagonist Sir Arthur to Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds. Nice cross-promotion there.
There’s no official announcement of a North American price for any of the new Arcade Classics, but they’re going up in Japan for 800 Wii Points, so expect something similar.
The new titles are:
- 1942
- Ghosts ‘n Goblins
- Exed Exes
- SonSon
- Black Dragon
- Wolf of the Battlefield: COMMANDO

More Need for Speed from Criterion? That’s interesting. But more Burnout? You’ve got our attention.
Criterion producer Craig Sullivan’s told Gamerzines it’s interested in making more Need for Speed and Burnout titles within the studio.
“Do I like Burnout more than I like Need For Speed? No,” said Sullivan.
“I like them both equally because they’re both the best I could do to give people a fun game regardless of whether or not it’s called Burnout, Need For Speed, Black, a game about jelly… you always pour your heart into it.”
He continues:
Would I like to make another Burnout game? Yes. Would I like to make another Need For Speed game? Yes. Would I like to make something completely different to both of those? Yes. I like making games, it’s the coolest job in the world.”
The Guildford studio’s last Burnout title was Burnout Paradise, which released back in 2008 and supported a great amount of DLC.
Criterion revealed its Need for Speed effort, Hot Pursuit, at E3 following a year-long hype-train for it. It releases on November 19 for PS3, 360, PC and Wii.

Despite the eventual existence of
Final Fantasy Agito XIII and
Final Fantasy Versus XIII, there’s apparently still room for more “Fabula Nova Crystallis” games from Square Enix. Maybe.
In an interview in the Final Fantasy XIII Ultimania Omega guide, producer Yoshinori Kitase expressed an interest in continuing the Final Fantasy XIII story. “I’d like to at some point make a story where Lightning ends up happy,” director Motomu Toriyama said. Whether or not this becomes a game depends on demand from fans.
The team also revealed content that was planned as DLC but cut from Final Fantasy XIII: an area called “Seventh Ark” that would have offered “free battles.” This was axed for quality reasons, as well as for differences in PSN and Xbox Live.

Fighting games have made a strong resurgence over the years, bringing back classic franchises like Marvel vs Capcom, Street Fighter and Tekken. But, what about Darkstalkers, Capcom’s long-dormant 2D fighting series? While Capcom’s Christian Svensson never dismissed the possibility, it seems as though the chances of a new iteration in the franchise are rather low. Capcom producer Yoshinori Ono told Eurogamer that making another game in the series would be his “ultimate dream.” However, he says that only fan demand will cause it to happen.
“This is all up to the readers,” Ono said. “They have to create the buzz. They have to tell us. They have to write the condition. They have to send in all these letters of plead. That is the only thing that will make Inafune-san nod.” According to Ono, it will take one million requests before Inafune says yes. Unfortunately, not much progress has been made. When asked how many requests they’ve received so far, he said “we’ve got 5000.”
You all have work to do.
Only 995,000 more requests before Capcom’s Inafune considers a new Darkstalkers game originally appeared on Joystiq on Sat, 02 Oct 2010 19:00:00 EST. Please see our terms for use of feeds.

Funny. We thought “zombie cougars” meant something else entirely.
Rockstar has released more screenshots of its Undead Nightmare Pack for Red Dead Redemption.
These are probably the best screenshots we’ve seen all day.
Not to be outdone by the cougar, the zombie bear and wolves look a bit foreboding as well – not like they weren’t already before this strange malady hit the land.
Apparently there’s “many other forms of undead wildlife – and mythical creatures – to be revealed” and it will run you $ 9.99 on PSN and 800 MSP on XBL.
We can’t wait. Now, give us a date, please.
Previous screens are here, and the trailer can be found here.
