Those guys over at Gamervision have done it again. You remember Inglourious Plummers from back in August 2009, right? If not, shame on you! Go watch it now. Their next awesome “what if this was really a movie” movie trailer is an indie-styled adaptation of the lovable Kratos from Sony’s blockbuster series God of War. They describe it as “a unique romantic black comedy in the proud tradition of Rushmore and Gigantic.” That sounds about right. That’s what those games were about, weren’t they?
It’s a coming-of-age tale of a teenage Kratos and his troubled rise through the ranks in the schoolyard at Spartan Academy. Like most young boys, he falls in love, and – like most young boys – it’s with the one girl he shouldn’t. If you’re a fan of Kratos, or indie films, or unique things, or the magnificent song “Home” by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes… this trailer is a must see. Please make this film a reality, Gamervision! I don’t care about all those silly legal ramifications like copyright laws – this is just too great not to share.

You always like to think that the director working on a film adaptation of your favorite video game is actually a fan of the game. Some claim to be, but World of Warcraft director Sam Raimi appears to be the genuine article. Speaking with Collider, Raimi revealed that he’s currently rocking a level 72 character in WoW, this after someone wiped his level 29 shaman “by accident.”
Raimi also talked about his WoW film due in 2013, of course, confirming that it won’t be a Tron-like affair with segments set in the real world and the gameworld — “It will all be taking place in the world of Warcraft,” he said. Also offered: his list of likes about the franchise from a director’s perspective, including its scale and locations, calling the world “incredibly, engrossingly terrifying.”
