If you're among the dedicated Sony fans shilling out $ 49.99 a year for a PlayStation Plus, and among those playing the beta for the dowloadable Red Faction game, you're in for a treat. THQ and Sony are extending the beta for the explosive vehicular combat game, Red Faction: Battlegrounds, but only if you're a subscriber.
PlayStation Plus members have until October 26 to blow crap up in cool cars, and more are coming to join the fun thanks to the 1,000 beta codes Sony will be giving to members. According to Volition's community manager, J Goldberg, the developer is really trying to stress test the servers, so that's why 1,000 more invites are being distributed.
I find it interesting that a developer that's trying to overload its servers would make a beta exclusive for a week. Wouldn't you want to take all comers?
