Though the star of its cover, and of the darker, rawer story told through its singleplayer mode, is fictitious boxer Andre Bishop, Fight Night Champion will still deliver real-life boxing legends in their prime, as fans expect of the series. More »

This morning Firemint released some additional details about the upcoming Real Racing 2, along with the best news of all: We'll be playing the game before Christmas. They've also released a short gameplay video which features a Nissan GT-R (R35), but Firemint has stressed that this is still in development, and not representative of the final game.
It gets better yet, they're promising a career mode that will "easily provide 10 hours of gameplay" as players earn in-game money by winning races and increasing their reputation. We will be able to buy and sell cars, unlock tracks and additional championship events, and even customize cars with various performance enhancements and paint jobs. The game will support all iPhones and iPod touch models, going all the way back to first generation hardware while having enhancements for the latest devices as well.
Somewhere out there is a guy who’s spent big money on football cards. He can look at them, but can’t touch them. He can use the players – all elite – in a $ 60 video game, but never does. More »
Gran Turismo 5, a game over six years in development – and the recipient of its fair share of major delays – will finally be out next week. Don’t believe us? Reader Michael sends the proof. More »
Gran Turismo 5 aims to be the ultimate racing simulator, and now you can take what you've learned in the game and apply it to the real world. Sony and Nissan are teaming up for GT Academy – a chance for you to race your way onto a real international race team with actual cars.
Your journey to becoming a race driver starts by registering for the competition (registration runs from December 6th through January 23rd). Entrants will race in regional online time trials starting on December 20th through January 23rd in pre-selected Nissan vehicles on specific tracks. You can race these as many times as you want in order to post your best score on the regional and national leaderboards. All participants will receive DLC for their efforts, and other prizes (including racing wheels, a full racing simulator, copies of Gran Turismo PSP, and more) will be available the further you progress. Additional tournament rounds will cull the number of racers in each of the four national regions until the best 16 in the entire country advance to the National Finals.
For the National Finals, the remaining 16 racers will go through GT Academy boot camp where they will get behind the wheel of real Nissan cars and learn what it takes to become a race driver. Various competitions will produce a single GT Academy champion who will then get a spot on a race team and compete in an actual race. The National Finals will be filmed as part of a multi-episode reality show for the Speed channel.

After proving its ability to keep its own spiny mascot alive with the well-received Sonic Colors, Sega has turned its efforts to preserving the non-flatness of real-life hedgehogs in the suburb of Twickenham, London. The publisher recently designated a temporary “hedgehog road crossing” in the town, allowing a handful of the woodland creatures to scamper about without fear of being struck by one of the region’s tiny, steering-wheel-on-the-wrong-sided vehicles.
Yes, it was very much a publicity stunt, but Sega representative Anna Downing told Eurogamer that she hopes it will “raise awareness” of the 50,000 hedgehogs who die every year while trying to cross British roads. That’s a pretty good cause, we guess — but you know what would raise even more driver awareness of hedgehogs? If you painted them all bright blue. Food for thought.
