Rock

While the Star Wars crew is kind of a big deal in Rock Band circles, they’re not the only spacefaring group who knows how to play. A fan has recreated some of the cast from Mass Effect 2 in the game’s character editor, and the results are pretty darned cool.

The in-game band Mat Effect features Jacob Taylor, Miranda Lawson, creator Sujeto Cero, and a stunning recreation of Jack. Check it out in the video below, as they belt out “Aliens Exist.” Blink-182 has never felt so appropriate.

Shred your guitar and bang your drums to survive a zombie attack in this game that mixes the fun of a shooter with the awesomeness of rock music. Perhaps it’s just an amazing coincidence, but one of next week’s Rock Band DLC selections is especially timely. In light of Viacom’s plan to sell off developer Harmonix, the addition of the Bee Gees’ “Stayin’ Alive” is in line with the developer’s insistence that everything is A-OK.

That song is just one of the Bee Gees tracks available, which will join singles from legendary bluesman B.B. King and Procol Harum. Here’s the list:
•         Bee Gees – “Jive Talkin’”
•         Bee Gees – “Night Fever”
•         Bee Gees – “Stayin’ Alive” X
•         Bee Gees – “Nights on Broadway”
•         Bee Gees – “Tragedy”
•         Bee Gees – “You Should Be Dancing”
•         B.B. King – “The Thrill Is Gone” X
•         Procol Harum – “A Whiter Shade of Pale”

Tracks will be available individually for $ 1.99/160 Microsoft Points/200 Wii Points. The Bee Gees Pack 01 will set players back $ 9.99/800 Microsoft Points/1,000 Wii Points. The songs marked with an X can be upgraded to include pro guitar and pro bass parts for $ .99/80 Microsoft Points/100 Wii Points.
