The winners of the 2012 PSN Gamers’ Choice Awards have been chosen. While we’re sure the developers and publishers appreciate the honor of the prestigious awards, the upshot is that all of the winners will receive a heavy discount this week. Specifically, each game will be marked down 30 percent, while PlayStation Plus subscribers can snag the winners at a full 50 percent off.

Winners include everything from PSN exclusives (Infamous: Festival of Blood) to full PS3 game downloads (Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood) to indie darlings (Limbo). Once the weekly PSN update goes up later today, each winner will be discounted for a week. You can check out the full list of winners after the break.

GDC starts… Tomorrow! Most of the TouchArcade crew is already causing trouble in San Francisco, while a few of us (myself included) are still airborne and working via the wonders of in-flight WiFi. Anyway, just as a heads-up this week should be pretty crazy with a constant stream of posts as we meet with the 80 different game developers we have scheduled meetings with.

If you have a meeting with us, please be sure to bring assets for your game with you. WiFi and cellular service in San Francisco seem to be equally unreliable, so we’re asking everyone to load some screenshots and any video you can come up with on some sort of USB storage device. USB flash drive, portable hard drive, whatever! As long as we can pull data off of it, we’re good to go.

If you don’t have a meeting with us, unfortunately our schedule is totally slammed and I can’t squeeze anyone else in regardless of how many times (and how creatively) you try to contact me about it! Please be sure to come to our party though. It’s at the same place we hold it every year, but a day earlier.

Here are the details:

  • WHEN: Tuesday March 6th, 7:00 PM until they kick us out.
  • WHERE: Bin 55 in the lobby of the Marriott Marquis at 55 4th St.
  • WHY: Because there’s way more cool people we want to meet than we have meeting time slots for!

Bring your industry-relevant business card and/or a GDC pass to flash and we’ll trade you for a fancy tyvek bracelet to turn on the free beer. I’m thinking our party is going to be crazier than usual this year judging by how quickly our meeting schedule got booked up, so, don’t miss it.

That “significant” PSN maintenance that was originally scheduled for last Thursday (and subsequently delayed) is so totally happening tomorrow, scheduled to start at 3 PM Eastern and expected to last until 5 AM Eastern the following morning.

All users will be automatically signed out, and all PSN services (including online play, the PlayStation Store, PlayStation Home, Account Management and official websites like the PlayStation Blog) will all be offline and inaccesible. Thankfully, last Thursday’s delay gave us time to prepare an Extended PSN Maintenance Survival Kit, which is essentially a Rainbow Brite lunchbox full of beef jerky and Harvey Birdman: Attorney At Law DVDs.

Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time is headed to the Playstation 3 a little later this year, with developer Sanzaru Games targeting a release some time in the North American fall.

Sure, it’s nothing specific, but it’s a step closer than the elusive “2012″ release window we were given at last year’s E3 briefing, which also hinted that the game would feature time travel and the ability to meet your own ancestors.

Game Freak’s announced on Japanese TV tonight sequels for Pokemon Black and White will launch in Japan this June for DS.

Not much was given away besides the platform, release date and the fact they’re sequels in what seems to be a first in the main core series.

Game Freak’s Junichi Masuda teased the names of the first two Pokemon would be announced next week, but did show off images of the two in question.

The fact the main Pokemon series is getting sequels is a surprise, but missing 3DS is a bigger shock: it was honestly expected the next big Pokemon title would hit the 3D handheld, albeit as Pokemon Grey.

Thanks, Andriasang.

This year, Activision once again plans to release an annual sequel to its popular Call of Duty franchise. In addition to the traditional console platforms, Sony claims that Activision’s major shooter franchise will also debut for PlayStation Vita this fall. Speaking to GameTrailers’ Geoff Keighley in a recent video interview, Sony’s new SVP of PlayStation brand marketing, Guy Longworth said, “In the Autumn, [my kids] are really looking forward to Call of Duty on Vita, …

Minecraft is already one of the best things ever. Really, is there anything it can’t do? “Make things in real life,” I can hear you say. But you’d be wrong. PC Gamer has peeped us to this excellent physical recreation of a village designed in Minecraft. It was created using a 3D printer. It’s also adorably tiny, a mere 360 x 250 x 60 mm. That. Is. Impossibly. Cute.

Here’s a video detailing the whole process. Enjoy.
