Doing voice work for first-person shooters isn’t all fun and games; sometimes you have to scream your ass off. And that’s what Gary Oldman, who played Reznov in Call of Duty: Black Ops, tells Conan O’Brien on his show. Well, he doesn’t just tell him. He screams at him. Watch this.

Members of PlanetSide 2‘s development team spoke about the sequel to the nearly decade-old MMOFPS in a video that revealed more footage of the game than we’ve ever seen. PlanetSide 2 promises to house the largest-scale combat ever seen in an online shooter, with thousands of players directly and simultaneously competing with one another.
The question is, from a technological standpoint, how are they going to handle these massive battles? Battlefield 3 sees a maximum of 64 vs. 64; PS2 wants to raise the bar by an entire order of magnitude.
Gosh, Star Wars: The Old Republic sure is turning out to be awesome. Or so I’ve heard. I haven’t had the chance to play just yet. But I am increasingly jealous. Reason number 500: Our good friends at Game Trailers got ahold of this hilarious capture of a glitch in TOR that is as hilarious as it is deadly to your character. About 30 seconds in, watch the J-Tim dance moves commence, and may the force be with you here, and in the club.
My latest favorite (that’s three favorites now, for those keeping track) fan-made Skyrim cover comes from violinist Jason Yang, who plays lots of different tracks on the tune and recorded the whole thing for YouTube. What’s more — he plays his own drums on a drum synthesizer. High-five to musically talented people; check out Jason’s YouTube Channel right here.
Myst 3D is coming to the 3DS in March, and a video from publisher Maximum Family Games offers a glimpse into all of its dimensions — and they’re falling flat. Joystiqer Tom P. points out that the main action shown in the demo video takes place on the lower, non-3D screen. There is some discovery gameplay on the upper, 3D screen, but since Maximum Family Games is billing Myst 3D as a game with “sharp 3D environments,” we were expecting a game with sharp 3D environments.
As the friendly warning at the beginning of the demonstration states, we aren’t able to see the true 3D effects in the video, and it’s possible that the Myst holding screen on the 3D panel looks utterly outstanding. We’ll keep both eyes out for more Myst 3D gameplay videos — mostly because you can’t see 3D graphics with just one eye.
